Jake cut his teeth playing live electronics with the pioneering, Warp-signed jazz band Red Snapper in the early noughties. He now works as a multi-disciplinary artist whose interests include digital DJ technology, Welsh Futurism, unsecured surveillance cameras and internet chatrooms.
He has written/produced/performed internationally for Warp, Huntleys & Palmers, Lo Recordings and !K7 amongst others. In 2012 he completed with distinction an Mmus in Creative Practice at Goldsmiths University and since has participated in a number of artists residencies and international audio visual and performance art collaborations.
He is the Head of Electronic Music & Business Development at SSR London where he has also run the Electronic Music & DJ Practice BA (Hons) course for several years. He currently co-curates the No One’s Watching club night and radio show and co-runs the Precious Snowflake and Petrax record labels. He is a Native Instruments specialist in Maschine and Traktor.
